Good Samaritan-ism.

I was on Kijiji a few days ago and saw this ad:

I am a single father moving out October 1st and need items for my 2yr old son. My first priority is finding him a bed. Any items would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me at xxx-xxxx or through e-mail.

Thank you in advance!
Well.  I know, I know, some people would be like, "Well, he's probably just a scammer." or other thought similar to that.  Not me!  I saw this ad and said, "I don't have a bed for him...  But I wonder if he could use some clothes or toys?"

So I replied to his ad.  I asked him if he needed toys or clothes for his boy.  He replied back that anything would help, as he is starting over from scratch.

So I mentioned it to Andrew.  He got excited and right away went into his room and got to work finding toys that he doesn't really want/need anymore.  We got some big trucks, a Spiderman & motorcycle, some books and puzzles, and a couple action figures.

When they came by to pick the things up, I got a tear in my eye as I watched my amazing child hand these toys over to a little boy who could use them more than he could.  It's an amazing feeling watching your child grow up to be a good samaritan!

About an hour after they had left, I got an email from the child's father:

Name deleted is really enjoying is toys! He has not put them down since we got home! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am sure they will be used in years to come!
I love this feeling.
