To My Son

My Child:

Tomorrow, you will turn eight years old.  There are so many things I wish I could tell you, to make you understand just how much of an angel you are in my life.  My son, when you are grown up, you will understand, because I will tell you, that you have save MY life in so many ways.  Just as I have had a hand in shaping who you are today, you have helped shape me.  My little booger, you are growing up into such a little man, a little man that I am more than proud to call my son.

You are thoughtful, loving, and kind.  You have such a sensitive soul, and you get that from your mommy; yet you have a temper like your daddy - two things that, when combined, are like an explosion!  Your personality is big and beautiful, just like your big, beautiful, hazel eyes, that always have that mischievous glint in them, especially at bedtime when you think it's playtime.

You are a stubborn little ass, but it makes my days exciting.  Your daddy hates it when we argue, but I secretly like it, because after we argue, we get to make up, and that means lots of hugs and kisses.

You are creative and outgoing!  You are always dreaming.  Never, ever stop dreaming.  Never, ever stop creating.

And never, EVER, ever, for anyone, stop being yourself.  Because you are perfect, just the way you are.

There are so many other things I wish I could say to you today, tomorrow, every day.  But the most important one is this:  I love you.  And I will always, no matter what, love you with my whole, entire heart.

Love,
Mommy
xoxo
