Once upon a time, I was a romantic...

So!  Going through some old stuff a few weeks back, I found a couple of poems I wrote back when I was a teenager!  The first one I wrote when I was 13 and "in love".  The second I wrote when I was 18 and heartbroken.  Enjoy!

If Only
If only you knew
these feelings are true
I wouldn't be so blue;
and this fairy-tale love
made up above
could happen to use,
it's not just lust.
You don't understand,
yet I hold out my hand
in hopes you will land
safely in my arms.
It's where you belong,
it's where you should stay,
ever minute of ever day.
Together.
Forever.
Just you and me.
And together we will
conquer anything.

Hero
He is my hero,
only he can save me.
He catches me when I fall,
he speaks when I have no voice,
he carries me when I can't walk.

He is my hero,
with his piercing blue eyes.
He gives me self-esteem,
he makes me feel beautiful,
he makes me feel loved.

He is my hero,
being my protector when I need it.
Sticking up for me,
saving my reputation,
saving my life.

He is my hero.
He's in my heart.
He's in my soul.
He's inside me, he's part of me.
He is my hero.
