The Positive Approach!

Well, my followers, readers, dear friends...

Yesterday was kind of an eye-opener for me.  I realized how truly negative I am!  Always talking about how bad/mean/awful everything/everyone is.

I was having a conversation with my friend/co-founder of "Mike and Shannon's Awesomely Spectacular Book Club", and him and I made a pact, so to speak.  He had told me that he is trying this month to not say anything negative about his partner.  He inspired me, so I decided to do the same thing!  Well, not for a month...  But, anyway, him and I are going to email eachother every morning and say two positive things about our partner.  Trust me, it's harder than it sounds, especially when this is the friend who you man-bash with!  LOL!

Anyway, this morning I came up with:
  • He cooked me supper last night, and asked if I would prefer brown rice or white rice! That was nice :)
  • This morning, he cut up some strawberries for me for my lunch without me even asking!
And that's all I could think of.  It's so much easier to see the negative side of everything that the positive side.  So when something bad happens, it kind of overshadows all the good.

I googled "Power of Positive Thinking" and came across this website:
One thing that stood out in my mind is the following quote:
Positive and negative thinking are both contagious.
All of us affect, in one way or another, the people we meet. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through thoughts and feelings transference, and through body language. People sense our aura and are affected by our thoughts, and vice versa. Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people and avoid negative ones? People are more disposed to help us if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.
Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.
Inneresting...  I mean, it's really just common sense if you think about it.  Positive thinking leads to positive outcomes, and vice versa.  Right?

Anyway, now that I have lost my train of thought due to work and exercising, I am done.  I am going to ty every day to post two positive thought about my fiance, even after my friend and I are done emailing each other daily with positivity.  If we ever stop!  Who knows, maybe it will become a tradition?
